Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah Land (And Meet Snooky, Earl Grey, Nikki, Molly, Andre and Paco!)

There were so many wonderful, happy animals frollicking about at this house (inside and out!) that it reminded me of this old Disney video and I began referring to this place as Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah Land! (I'd tell Jon I was heading to Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah Land or about something that happened at Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah Land. Heeee.)



Technically, you don't meet Paco in any of these pictures because he hid from me up until the very last day of my visits (and then did not come out enough for pictures). But you can just imagine that a sweet, adorable tuxedo kitty is among these other guys as well. :)

Guess Who's Back? Back Again.

Well, the dude has hung around enough to have earned himself a darn name (Shady, obviously - warning, probable explicit lyrics - this song is what came to mind last night when I arrived home to see that he was back - back again - on our front porch, there to greet me for the third or fourth night in a row.) I only say darn about him earning a name because it means I'll get attached to him (despite his being ugly as the dickens), and be horribly upset if/when I find what's left of him after a cat has decided that he is a fantastic new toy. Sigh.... Incidentally, this article about the word "dickens" is kind of interesting (scroll down to "Not that groundhogs aren't cute, of course." or just search for the word "dickens" til you get there). :)

At Least Someone Is Using the Cat Bed!

There's a cat bed on the porch that no one ever uses. Stinky prefers to curl up on the floor mat from my car, which has been laying on the porch to dry out after the car was having issues and flooding my passenger side floorboard.

But today, I noticed that our little Frog Friend is using the Cat Bed No One Wants as a shelter to hide under during the day!!! :)

(Also - hooray for Stinky feeling better! She had to start a second bout of antibiotics because the colitis came right back shortly after the medications ended. The meds are helping again and she's acting normally again, thank goodness!!)

Frog Friend

This dude hangs out on our porch so much lately that I'm starting to consider him part of the family. (We must have good bugs?) He's pretty ugly, but fascinating and fun, nonetheless! I don't know if I'd say I love him yet, but I do get excited to see him. :)
I'm certain that if he keeps hanging around, a kitty will get ahold of him eventually, though, and I am prepared for this outcome. Nature can be so cruel.
