I have no idea what possessed Pop to come into the kitchen for his dinner (as opposed to eating under the dining room table as per his usual routine), but he did, so I gave him his bowl where he was. And he let me rub him and put dry food in the bowl right next to him while he was eating!!! Hooray! Baby steps. :)
